Swiss wins prizes for wine offering at Wines on the Wing Awards

The Swiss airline Swiss is at this year's “Wines on the Wing Awards“ of the magazine Global Traveler The awards recognize the airline's wine offerings in all travel classes, with particular emphasis on the quality of the wines served in first class. Swiss secured first place in the "Top International First Class Wines" category, thus underscoring its commitment to quality even in the air.

A special success is the award of the Cayas Syrah 2022 of Jean-René Germanier from Valais, which also took first place among the first-class red wines. The judges praised the quality of the Swiss wine, which impressed in the blind tasting. But Swiss also scored highly in other travel classes. In Premium Economy and Economy Class, the red wines achieved Assemblage de Romandie is Domaine Les Perrières and La Cuvee Mythique the first two places. The white wine Chasselas de Romandie was awarded second place.

Swiss also impressed in the area of sparkling wines. Pommery Cuvée Louise Millésime 2006 Parcelles from the first class and the Italian Millesimato Spumante Brut in Premium Economy and Economy Class each received third place. These awards demonstrate that Swiss places great value on a diverse and high-quality wine selection in all travel classes.

With its consistent selection of wines from Switzerland, the airline not only offers its guests a special experience, but also provides an international stage for the national wine industry, of which only a small portion is exported. Wines on the Wing Awards are an annual blind tasting of wines judged by a panel of experts.
