Tour operator TUI, considered the world's largest of its kind, has announced the launch of two new direct flights to Scandinavian Mountains Airport, serving the Swedish ski resorts of Sälen and Trysil in Norway. Starting December 20, 2025, flights from Brussels and Düsseldorf to this destination will be offered every Saturday throughout the winter season.
This expansion of flight offerings aims to facilitate access to Scandinavia's major winter destinations for travelers from Belgium, Germany, and neighboring regions. This move is part of a broader strategy by Tui to increase the total number of weekly flights to the region to four. Connections already exist from the UK and the Netherlands. Scandinavian Mountains Airport expects record numbers for the coming winter season, supported by growing interest and new direct flights from Tui and other partners such as SAS and easyJet.
Tui's new direct flights from Brussels and Düsseldorf complement the existing offerings of other airlines and tour operators to this airport, which is specifically geared towards the needs of winter vacationers. The Sälen and Trysil region is known for its extensive ski areas and attracts numerous winter sports enthusiasts every year. The additional flight connections are expected to further increase the attractiveness of these destinations for travelers from Central Europe.
