Since June 3, 2024, new entry regulations have been in force in Thailand, allowing visitors from 93 countries to stay for up to 60 days without a visa. These include countries such as Austria, Switzerland, Germany and other European countries. This regulation doubles the previous length of stay from 30 to 60 days.

The change represents significant relief for travelers planning to spend extended periods of time in Thailand, be it for extended winter stays or cultural vacations in the north of the country followed by relaxation on the beautiful beaches.

Additionally, students and others, including digital nomads, have the option to apply for a longer visa of up to 180 days, which can be extended once, for a fee. It is possible for visitors from 31 other countries to apply for a visa for up to 15 days upon entry. The new entry requirements are part of an effort by Thailand to boost tourism and make the country more attractive to international visitors.
