DUS: A businessman simply leaves an expensive painting behind

Advertising

This businessman's head was probably somewhere else: on the way to Tel Aviv, the inattentive passenger lost his hand luggage at Düsseldorf Airport. Actually nothing unusual. However, this was a painting worth 280.000 euros, which ended up in the waste paper container.

The negligent man forgot the picture of the surrealist painter Yves Tanguy when he checked in at the end of November “for unclear reasons”, like the news portal Spiegel reported. It was only later that he noticed that he started his journey without the flat, approximately 40 by 60 centimeter large box in his hand luggage. Then he pulled out all the stops to locate the valuable work of art. In fact, the trail led to a dumpster. A relative finally picked up the work of the French painter.
