Thursday: Verdi also calls on security personnel in Hamburg and Frankfurt to go on strike

In addition to the rail strike, which the GDL union is calling for from Thursday, March 7, 2024, and the strike by Lufthansa ground staff that begins on the same day, Verdi is also calling on security staff at Hamburg and Frankfurt am Main airports to stop work.

The three industrial action measures mean that people who want to travel to/from or within Germany have to expect significant restrictions. In many cases it will not be possible to switch to rail connections due to the train drivers' strike. Affected travelers should contact their airline or Deutsche Bahn to check alternative options or – if possible – postpone their travel plans.
