Tips: Recognition of foreign boat licenses in Croatia

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

In Croatia, the coastal patent B is not only the official boat license, but also particularly popular among Austrian holidaymakers. This boat license is an essential requirement for operating yachts and boats in Croatian waters and plays a crucial role in safety at sea.

Official recognition: Not every Austrian boating license is automatically recognized in Croatia, including various club licenses, inland patents, etc. It is therefore crucial that boaters find out in advance which licenses are valid in Croatia. The official list “Recognized certificates for operating boats and yachts” contains all recognized boat licenses in Croatia, not just those from Austria.

Suggestion: Boaters should check the recognition of their licenses on the Croatian Ministry website before sailing in Croatian waters to ensure they comply with regulations in Croatia.
