On the Sunday after Thanksgiving in the United States, a new record was recorded for US air traffic.

According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), 3,09 million people traveled that day, an increase of 80.000 passengers over the previous record on July 7. Despite the large number of travelers, most U.S. airports and airlines were able to handle the rush, although the Detroit hub suffered snow-related delays.
