Union threatens Airbus Canada to call strike

A strike could be imminent at Airbus Canada, the manufacturer of the A220 series. In a collective bargaining dispute, members of the Aimta union overwhelmingly rejected the employer's latest offer.

At the same time it was announced that possible strike measures had already been voted on. About 83 percent of unionized Airbus Canada employees are said to have voted in favor. The Airbus Group plans to increase the clock speed at the Mirabel (Canada) and Mobile (USA) locations in order to be able to meet the high demand. The employee representatives are demanding more wages. If no agreement is reached, the union reserves the right to call for strikes.
