On June 2, 2024, United Airlines celebrated the 25th anniversary of its non-stop service between Zurich Airport and New York/Newark. Over the past two and a half decades, United has operated more than 16.300 flights and carried more than 2,4 million passengers to the Big Apple and beyond.
But that's not all: June 4, 2024 also marks an anniversary for United and Zurich Airport. This day marks the 20th anniversary of non-stop flights between Zurich and the US capital Washington, DC. Since 2004, the airline has transported more than two million passengers on over 17.500 flights from ZRH to Washington Dulles International Airport.
Today, both routes - Zurich-New York/Newark and Zurich-Washington Dulles - are served daily, which not only gives travelers from Switzerland quick and easy flights to these metropolises, but also access to the large United network within the USA with more than 200 targets.
“We are delighted to be able to celebrate the anniversaries of these important milestones and thus also honor 25 years of successful flying in Switzerland without interruptions,” said Reto Schneider, Country Sales Manager Switzerland and Germany at United Airlines.
Florian Raff, Head of Aviation Development at Flughafen Zürich AG, emphasized: “We value the good partnership with United Airlines and are proud to celebrate 25 years of flight operations to and from Zurich together.”
The partnership between United Airlines and Zurich Airport has helped travelers enjoy a wide range of destinations worldwide, with United offering a strong North American schedule with daily service to New York/Newark, Washington, DC, Chicago and San Francisco.
