Vienna's conference industry achieved the best results in its history in 2024, with 6.619 congresses and corporate meetings, according to the Vienna Tourist Board. These events generated record added value of €1,32 billion for Austria and contributed €365 million to tax revenue. They also secured 23.500 year-round jobs.

The length of stay of conference guests was particularly encouraging, averaging three nights, significantly above the average for other visitors to Vienna. International congresses proved particularly important, as they generated the majority of added value and tax revenue. Vienna further consolidated its position as a leading location for medical congresses, with events in this field accounting for the largest share of congress overnight stays.

The corporate conference sector also showed strong momentum, with a significant increase in events and overnight stays. Vienna is increasingly establishing itself as a location for conferences in the field of artificial intelligence. International rankings confirm Vienna's attractiveness as a conference destination. To further strengthen this position, the city is investing in new infrastructure projects such as the Wien Holding Arena and is planning to establish a Vienna Event Board to better market the city as an event venue.
