Flughafen Wien AG recorded a significant increase in sales and earnings in the first quarter of 2024. According to the company, the ongoing desire to travel and successful settlement projects contributed to this.

In the first quarter of the current year, an 11 percent increase in passengers was achieved at the Vienna-Schwechat location. Together with the subsidiaries in Luqa and Kosice, the increase is 13,8 percent. The airport is expecting around 360.000 travelers for the upcoming Pentecost weekend. This is also assumed to be the first indicator of travel volume in mid-summer 2024.

In addition to passenger growth, the Vienna Airport Group also recorded an increase in flight movements and freight volumes. Sales in various segments such as Airport, Handling & Security Services and Retail & Properties also recorded an increase compared to the previous year.

For the full year 2024, Vienna Airport expects further growth, with around 30 million passengers at the Vienna location and around 39 million passengers in the entire Vienna Airport Group. The financial guidance for 2024 has been slightly adjusted, with sales of over €1,0 billion, EBITDA of over €400 million and a profit for the period before minorities of at least €220 million being targeted.
