Vienna Airport Business Night: Entrepreneurs met to exchange ideas and celebrate innovation

On May 27, 2025, the Vienna Airport Conference & Innovation Center once again transformed into a vibrant meeting place for Austria's business elite. Over 250 high-profile guests from the worlds of business, politics, media, and culture accepted the invitation to the fourth edition of the "Vienna Airport Business Night."

A central highlight of the evening was the closely watched keynote speech by renowned military expert Colonel Dr. Markus Reisner, who provided insights into current geopolitical developments and their relevance for business and society. The event also featured the presentation of the coveted "Vienna Airport Business Awards" in various categories, honoring outstanding achievements by companies within Vienna AirportCity. The evening's musical accompaniment was provided by the talented Austrian artist Caroline Kreutzberger and her band.

Top-class speeches and prominent guests shaped the evening

The fourth "Vienna Airport Business Night" attracted an impressive number of interested personalities. Among the more than 250 guests were numerous representatives from the business world as well as well-known figures from politics, culture, and society. The evening's fascinating contributions were followed with great interest, including statements from Dr. Günther Ofner, Member of the Management Board of Vienna Airport, and Wolfgang Scheibenpflug MRICS, Head of Real Estate and Site Management at Vienna Airport AG.

Particular attention was drawn to the keynote speech by Colonel Dr. Markus Reisner, Director of the Institute for Officer Training at the Theresian Military Academy. His remarks on current geopolitical challenges and their impact on the global and national economy, as well as society, generated lively interest and provided valuable food for thought. The evening was moderated by the charming and eloquent moderator Sandra König. Among the numerous prominent guests were Cathedral Pastor Toni Faber, publisher and editor-in-chief Uschi Pöttler-Fellner, Roman Koch of Gebr. Heinemann, and Richard Steinlechner of An-Cor-Tek.

Awards for outstanding achievements in AirportCity

A central part of the Vienna Airport Business Night was the ceremonial presentation of the Vienna Airport Business Awards. With these awards, Vienna Airport recognizes companies that have distinguished themselves through exceptional achievements within AirportCity. This year, three companies were honored in various categories: The innovative aerospace company Gate Space received the "Innovator of the Year" award for its pioneering developments.

Catering provider Eurest Austria was honored as "Best Service Provider" for its outstanding service quality. Lufthansa Cargo was named "Cargo Company of the Year" for its logistics expertise and importance to the airport. The Vienna Airport Business Awards were presented by Wolfgang Scheibenpflug, MRICS, who highlighted the strong innovative strength, high service quality, and distinctive professional expertise of the businesses located in AirportCity. These awards underscore the importance of AirportCity as a dynamic and successful business location.

Performance showcase of Vienna Airport and its partners

Following the award ceremony, the invited guests had the opportunity to experience the wide and diverse range of services offered by Vienna AirportCity for themselves. The airport's visitor center presented "Birdly," a fascinating opportunity to experience virtual sightseeing flights from a bird's eye view.

This showcase highlighted the range of services that make AirportCity an attractive location for companies and travelers alike.
