Vienna Tourism honors outstanding gastronomy and leisure opportunities

As part of this year’s summer festival of the Viennese tourism industry at the Allianz Stadium in Hütteldorf, the industry awards “Golden Schani" and "Golden JettyThese awards honor the city's most beautiful beer gardens and most impressive recreational opportunities. The winners were selected through a public online vote, followed by a jury decision, with guest votes given greater weight.

Dominic Schmid, Chairman of the Tourism and Leisure Industry Division of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that last year's new overnight stay record was the result of close cooperation within Vienna's tourism and leisure industry. He emphasized that the hospitality, hotel, and leisure industries are increasingly intertwined to offer guests—both Viennese residents and visitors—a comprehensive experience and more attractive offerings. This success, based on hard work, is being celebrated with the industry awards.

The “Golden Schani” was awarded in four categories for the most beautiful Schani gardens: In the category “Classic Schani gardens” the “El Gaucho at Rochusmarkt“. At the gardens “Im Grünen” the “Gugumucks Garden Bar“ in the Viennese snail factory. The well-known “AmerlingbeislIn the category “Above the Rooftops” the “At Bernard's“ on the top floor of the Hotel Motto the main prize.

The second industry award, the “Golden Jetty", honored companies that, with their innovative and exceptional concepts, significantly enrich Vienna's leisure offerings and thus the quality of life in Vienna. The award is named after the Viennese original "Jetti Tant," who once looked after children's leisure activities in families. In the category "Culture & Experience," the "Johann Strauss Museum – New Dimensions“ for its innovative permanent exhibition on the work and life of the composer. The “Kahlenberg Forest Rope Park" won in the "Body & Mind" category and has established itself as a popular leisure hotspot, increasing the attractiveness of Kahlenberg. Schmid concluded by emphasizing the immense importance of tourism as an economic sector for Vienna, which represents a combination of diverse offerings.
