The tourism industry in Vienna recorded a significant increase in overnight stays in February 2025. With approximately 1,1 million overnight stays, this represents an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last year. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 2,2 million guest overnight stays have been recorded in the federal capital, representing an increase of 9 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

Austria and Germany remained the most important source markets in February, although overnight stays from both countries declined. Austria led the statistics with 213.000 overnight stays, but recorded a decline of 5 percent. Germany followed with 153.000 overnight stays, a decrease of 7 percent compared to the previous year. Significant increases, however, were recorded in Italy (+10%), Spain (+8%), Poland (+39%), and Ukraine (+41%).

Vienna's accommodation providers also benefited from the increased demand. Net overnight revenue amounted to €2025 million in January 69,1, up 1 percent from the previous year. Average room occupancy in February was approximately 52 percent, while bed occupancy was 40 percent. Over the course of the year, room occupancy reached 50 percent, with bed occupancy at 38,7 percent.

Capacity in Vienna's hotel industry continued to expand. In February, approximately 79.500 hotel beds were available – an increase of approximately 8,7 percent compared to the previous year. Despite the increased supply, the city recorded stable occupancy and rising revenues.
