The Twin City Liner, which runs on the Danube between Vienna and Bratislava, has had more passengers in 2023 than ever before. The operator expects there to be around 2023 passengers by the end of December 170.000.

This significantly exceeds the previous high of 165.000 passengers, which was achieved in 2019. “Over two million passengers have traveled on the Danube in the fast catamaran since the start of the successful project in 2006. In 2023 we were able to welcome 170.000 guests on board the Twin City Liner and are very pleased to have set a new passenger record,” said Vienna City Councilor for Economic Affairs Peter Hanke (SPÖ).

The Twin City Liner, the fastest ship on the Danube, offers 250 seats and commutes from the City ship station at Schwedenplatz on its main route between Vienna and Bratislava in just 75 minutes. On board the fast catamaran, the Captain's Lounge on the upper deck, which has comfortable seating and permanently installed tables, can be easily reached via an internal connection. The main deck impresses with premium seats. There are modern charging stations for electronic devices on both decks as well as reliable and fast satellite WiFi along the entire route.

“Since the beginning of 2023, the Twin City Liner has thrilled more people than ever and is finally recording record results again after a few difficult years. I am sure that with the Advent trips we can interest many more people in traveling with the Twin City Liner,” says Wien Holding Managing Director Kurt Gollowitzer happily.

“We are very proud of our Twin City Liner’s record-breaking season. This also shows that the strategic decision to purchase a new, ultra-modern ship was the right one. This investment is also crucial for the future success of this unique shipping connection,” explains Raiffeisenlandesbank NÖ-Wien Deputy General Director Mag. Reinhard Karl.
