Viennese accommodation providers are recording an increase in sales

In September 2023, Vienna's accommodation providers were able to increase sales by 28 percent to 131,9 million. October reached 1,5 million (+12%) guest overnight stays. Since the beginning of the year, 14,1 million (+34%) overnight stays have been counted.

Vienna closed October 2023 with 1.502.000 overnight stays and an increase of 12% compared to the same month in 2022. Between January and October, the federal capital recorded 14.058.000 overnight stays - an increase of 34% compared to the same period last year. With 2.818.000 overnight stays (+27%), Germany leads the list of the top 10 markets so far this year, followed by Austria (2.569.000, +15%), the USA (841.000, +40%), Italy (700.000 , +51%), Great Britain (520.000, +42%), Spain (432.000, +30%), France (391.000, +37%), Poland (373.000, +45%), Switzerland (323.000, +33% ) and Israel (311.000, +20%).

The net overnight turnover of Vienna's accommodation establishments was 131.900.000 euros in September - this means an increase of 28% compared to the same month in 2022. In the period from January to September, the establishments were able to generate 856.768.000 euros - an increase of 49% compared to the same period of the previous year. The average occupancy of hotel rooms in October was around 71% (10/2022: around 69%), and that of beds in October was 55% (10/2022: 54,3%). In the year to date (January to October), room occupancy was around 68% (1-10/2022: around 56%), bed occupancy was 53,1% (1-10/2022: 44,7%). In total, around 72.000 hotel beds were available in Vienna in October - that was 4.500 beds (+6,7%) more than were offered in October 2022.
