Flughafen Zürich AG has signed a purchase agreement for solar diesel with Synhelion.

From 2027, 30.000 liters of the innovative fuel will be used annually, initially for passenger buses on the airport grounds, and later also for special vehicles. The fuels are produced in Spain and are intended to improve the airport's CO₂ balance. Synhelion is developing solar fuels that are compatible with existing engines. The contract is valid for five years and is part of a partnership between the two companies since 2020.
