There has been speculation about it for a long time and now it's here: the Michelin star for the Mountain Hub Gourmet at the Hilton Munich Airport.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Michelin Guide announced its star ratings in Hamburg and the fine-dining restaurant at Munich Airport received an award for the first time. With this award, Germany has again received a starred restaurant at an airport - and that only six months after the reopening of the Mountain Hub Gourmet.

"For me as a gourmet lover, the star is extremely important and of course we are incredibly proud of the team with Stefan Barnhusen. The award shows the great quality of our product and that hard work definitely pays off!” says Markus Hussler, General Manager of the Hilton Munich Airport. He is certain that the star will further increase the level of awareness of the restaurant and will emphasize the gastronomic variety and quality at Munich Airport.

Jost Lammers, CEO of Flughafen München GmbH, is also pleased about this news: "The fact that we at Munich Airport can now boast a Michelin-star restaurant is great news for the airport and its guests. We congratulate the chef and the management of our Hilton Hotel from the bottom of our hearts on this great achievement. This award is, so to speak, the sixth star for our Munich Airport, the first European "Five Star Airport".
