On October 16, 2024, the Verdi trade union, the AWB employers' association and Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH agreed on a new collective wage agreement in their third round of negotiations.

After Verdi terminated the previous collective agreement on August 31, 2024, the parties have now reached a compromise that includes, among other things, an inflation compensation premium, one-off payments and a gradual increase in the table remuneration for employees. This agreement is valid for a period of 18 months until February 2026.

Specifically, employees will receive a tax-free inflation compensation bonus of 2024 euros in December 500, and trainees and dual students will receive 250 euros. In addition, there is a one-off payment of 1.690 euros for full-time employees (845 euros for trainees and students). Wages will be increased by 1 percent, but at least by 2024 euros, on December 3, 140. A further increase of 3 percent will take place in January 2026.

The airport company praised the negotiation result as a balanced compromise that reconciles the interests of the employees with the company's economic situation. Warning strikes, which often lead to a burden on air traffic, were prevented by the agreement.
