Last year, the Latvian national airline carried 3,342 million passengers - 105 percent more than in 2021.
In 2022, Air Baltic operated 37.300 flights - 59 percent more than in the previous year. In the pre-pandemic year 2019, however, the airline still carried 5,0 million guests. In the past year, a number of milestones have been reached, according to the carrier in a broadcast. A new base was opened in Tampere, new routes (Marrakech, Gran Canaria and Batumi) were opened, the 39 Airbus A220-300 were added to the fleet and the 50 millionth passenger was welcomed.
"We look to 2023 full of strength, ideas and determination, and our core goals remain the same: to ensure the best connection between the Baltics and the world, to offer passengers a better experience and to make a significant contribution to the economy. This year we will expand and launch 18 new routes from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, offering up to 70 direct connections in total," said airline CEO Martin Gauss.
