Air Baltic slows down A220 takeovers

Air Baltic applies the brakes: The Latvian airline is postponing the takeover of 25 Airbus A220-300 machines. To the year 2024. This means that the expansion of the pure A220 fleet, which was previously announced, is slowing down.

Air Baltic's fleet currently includes 22 A220-300 aircraft. Three more will follow as planned by the end of the year, the airline announced. "After the crisis, it will become clear that a 145-seat aircraft is exactly the right thing, because many routes do not have great demand," said Air Baltic CEO Martin Gauss. "Focusing on the A220 makes life much easier for us."
