Spanish airline Air Europa joins the interline platform Worldwide by EasyJet. This solution, operated by Dohop, allows travelers to combine flight connections from different airlines in a single booking. The collaboration gives passengers access to new long-haul destinations in America as well as expanded connections within Europe.
For Air Europa, the partnership opens up the opportunity to make better use of EasyJet's short-haul network. Hubs such as London-Gatwick, Milan-Malpensa, Madrid and Palma de Mallorca are set to benefit in particular. EasyJet, in turn, will strengthen its reach in the long-haul sector through the cooperation, as Air Europa offers connections to South America and the Caribbean, among others.
Interline agreements such as this are becoming increasingly important in aviation, especially for airlines without their own long-haul flights. EasyJet has already entered into similar partnerships with other airlines, including Emirates and Norwegian. The partnership gives Air Europa, which is part of the International Airlines Group (IAG), an additional opportunity to attract transfer passengers from the EasyJet network.
