A total of 36 Airbus A330-200 and three A330-800 are affected by an airworthiness directive issued by Easa. The machines have to be improved because safety-related defects were found.

Specifically, it is about fuselage section 58, where the plastic forming was carried out poorly. According to the regulator, this can compromise the structural integrity of the entire machine and potentially lead to a catastrophic accident. The operators of the affected Airbus A330-200 and A330-800 are instructed to immediately carry out appropriate improvements and have them approved by the authorities.
