During the upcoming autumn holidays, which last from October 18 to November 3, 2024, Berlin Brandenburg Airport expects more than 1,3 million passengers.
This represents an increase of around 100.000 travellers compared to the previous year. During this period, a total of 133 destinations in 49 countries will be served, with holiday destinations in the Mediterranean region being particularly popular. Antalya in Turkey tops the list of the most popular travel destinations with 493 flight movements, followed by Mallorca with 329 flights.
Ryanair will offer the most flights with around 1.500 take-offs and landings, followed by easyJet with around 1.400 flights and Eurowings with 850. Around 250.000 passengers are expected on Friday, the week the holidays begin, and around 96.000 passengers are expected to use the airport on that day alone. The BER team will be on site in shifts on all three days to help travelers find their way around and check in.
The airport company points out possible disruptions due to construction work on the S9 and S45 S-Bahn lines and recommends that travelers keep themselves up to date on travel options. In addition, US President Joe Biden's visit to Berlin may lead to restrictions in regional transport. Travelers are encouraged to use the airport's digital services to minimize waiting times.
