American Airlines expects higher profits

Advertising

The US airline American Airlines has announced that it will continue to fly high in profits in the current year 2023.

The company on Thursday forecast earnings per share, adjusted for special items, of between $2,50 and $3,50. This would be at least five times as much as last year. Analysts had previously expected adjusted earnings to average $2 per share. American Airlines plans to get air traffic back close to the pre-crisis level, as reported by the German online portal Aero. The flight offer in 2023 should only be 5 percent below the pre-crisis level. The company has recently benefited from a sharp rise in ticket prices, particularly in the holiday quarter, which helped American Airlines post a full-year profit. This amounted to 127 million dollars after a loss of two billion dollars had been recorded here in the second Corona year 2021.
