Lufthansa is shifting the connection to the Austrian federal state airports, in some cases significantly backwards. With the exception of Klagenfurt, which is not served anyway, there are normal connections to Frankfurt and / or Munich. These are on hold due to the pandemic.

For example, the Linz-Frankfurt route has not been served since March 2020. The resumption was always postponed. In Graz, the routes to the Lufthansa hubs in Munich and Frankfurt are affected. These have also been paused for some time. Salzburg and Innsbruck currently have no feeders to the Frankfurt am Main hub.

In the 2020 summer flight schedule, Lufthansa operated the Austrian federal state airports - with the exception of Linz - with low frequencies. The "basic offer", if available, concentrated on Frankfurt am Main. It was originally announced that the routes would be reactivated at the beginning of the summer flight planning period in 2021. Nothing will come of this now - at least for the time being.

The following overview shows the dates planned as of February 26, 2021 for the resumption of connections between the federal state airports and the Frankfurt and Munich hubs. The date for reactivation has not yet been set at Linz-Frankfurt. At most, this should not be before June 17, 2021.
