From April 2023, Austrian Airlines will again use the so-called "Flying Chefs" from catering partner Do&Co after a three-year break on long-haul flights. According to the Lufthansa subsidiary, these will gradually be brought back into the air in business class.

“We want to offer our passengers top-class red-white-red service with the unmistakable charm of our crews and an unforgettable gourmet experience above the clouds. The Flying Chefs from Do&Co will finally be part of our Business Class product on long-haul routes again," says AUA Chief Commercial Officer Michael Trestl.

In the first months of the Austrian summer timetable 2023, the Flying Chefs will supplement the current service in Business Class on long-haul routes. From the summer of 2023, Austrian passengers will receive a completely redesigned catering service.

"We are very pleased that the Flying Chefs are back on board Austrian Airlines and can freshly prepare our menus according to the individual wishes of the guests," explains Do&Co boss Attila Dogudan.

It would be much more important to finally replace the aged Triple Seven and 767 than to do cosmetics in catering. Simply letting these Methuselahs continue to fly with their age and not sending a 787 or other new aircraft to Austrian is entirely at the expense of the LH mother.
