Bank Austria Kunstforum Wien: Transitional phase for realignment until 2026

The Bank Austria Kunstforum Wien is facing a realignment. After the announced withdrawal of UniCredit Bank Austria as main sponsor at the end of 2025, an interim solution was found that will secure the exhibition operation until 2026. This will enable the renowned exhibition house to work on new financing models and reposition itself. The show "Anton Corbijn - Favourite Darkness" will take place as planned.

For the second half of 2025, work is being carried out on a new sponsoring structure with the support of a high-caliber advisory board. This board is made up of personalities from business, culture and the media, including Oscar Bronner, Heinz Fischer, Cornelius Grupp, Elisabeth Gürtler and Erwin Wurm. Together, a concept is to be developed that will secure a long-term future for the art forum without the bank's previous financial support.

Director Ingried Brugger is confident that the Kunstforum can maintain its position as an internationally important exhibition institution. The agreement on the transition phase offers the opportunity to develop alternative financing strategies and to attract new partners.
