Maldivian airline Beond announced plans for a second Air Operator Certificate (AOC).

The second AOC is expected to be registered in Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates in 2024. The aim is to expand the business from these new locations. With this step, Beond is pursuing a strategy to expand operations beyond the current location in Malé and to open up new markets.

The airline, which specializes in luxury leisure flights, plans to respond more flexibly to market demands with a multi-AOC structure. This is part of an ambitious growth plan that includes a fleet expansion to 2028 premium aircraft by 32. Beond currently operates with Airbus A319 and A321 in premium configurations.
