BER Airport records strong passenger growth in July 2024

Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) recorded significant passenger growth in July 2024. With over 2,36 million passengers, the volume rose by 7,1 percent compared to the same month last year. Despite this increase, passenger volume remains below the levels of the pre-Corona year 2019, when around 3,36 million passengers were counted at Tegel and Schönefeld airports.

From January to July 2024, a total of 14,19 million passengers travelled through BER, an increase of 11,7 percent compared to the same period last year. The busiest day was July 15, 2024, when 90.316 passengers departed after the EURO 2024 final in Berlin.

The number of flight movements also increased: In July 2024, 17.312 aircraft took off and landed at BER, 1.185 more than in the previous year. At the same time, the airport recorded significant growth in the air freight sector. With around 4.085 tons of freight, the volume increased by 48,9 percent compared to July 2023 and exceeded the 2019 figures by 27,4 percent.
