The Lufthansa Group is now also offering biometric access control at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport as an alternative to the classic boarding card. For the time being, the service provided by the provider Fast-ID is reserved for travelers with HON Circle and Senator status.

Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings will initially take part in "BER Traveller". In a next step, the use of the BER self-service machines, boarding at the gate and access to the Lufthansa Group Lounge via facial recognition should also be possible.

“We are sustainably improving the travel experience of our passengers with biometric, contactless offers, as they enable simplified and more efficient processes at the airports. I am pleased that we can now also offer this innovative service to our HON Circle Members and Senators in Berlin. At all locations where the biometric comparison has already been introduced, our customers really appreciate this new offer,” Heike Birlenbach, Head of Customer Experience Lufthansa Group.
