The aviation world is eagerly awaiting the upcoming launch of the Bombardier Global 8000, expected in the second half of 2025. This aircraft is not only seen as the flagship of a new era in business jets, but is also expected to be the fastest and longest-range of its kind.
Just this week, Bombardier visited the Austrian airport Salzburg for the first time with the new model. According to the manufacturer, a test was carried out as part of the approval process.
"The Global 8000 is the world's fastest and longest-range purpose-built business jet. It continues to demonstrate exceptional performance and reliability and is generating great anticipation in the community for its entry into service in 2025. Our pilots are always very eager to fly the world's fastest civil aircraft since Concorde and experience its unmatched performance on a variety of runways," said a Bombardier spokesperson.
The Global 8000 is characterized by a combination of speed, range and comfort. With a maximum speed of Mach 0,94 (about 1.160 km/h), it surpasses all other business jets currently available and almost reaches the speed of sound. This makes it possible to complete intercontinental flights in less time, thus saving valuable time.
Another decisive factor is the impressive range of 8.000 nautical miles (approx. 14.800 km). This enables non-stop flights between far-flung destinations such as Los Angeles and Sydney or New York and Hong Kong. This capability makes the Global 8000 particularly attractive for international business travelers and frequent flyers.
The cabin of the Global 8000 is designed for maximum comfort and functionality. It offers four separate living areas that can be individually designed. Whether as a conference room, relaxation area or bedroom - the cabin can be flexibly adapted to the needs of the passengers. It also has a low cabin height that is similar to the pressurized cabin heights in modern commercial aircraft, thus increasing comfort on long flights.

Technical data at a glance:
- Top speed: Mach 0,94
- Range: 8.000 nautical miles (approx. 14.800 km)
- Passengers: up to 19
- Cabin: four separate living areas
- Engines: two Rolls-Royce Pearl 15X
The Global 8000 is currently in the final stages of development and certification. Bombardier is working closely with the relevant aviation authorities to ensure smooth approval. The first deliveries to customers are planned for the second half of 2025.
The launch of the Global 8000 will undoubtedly change the world of business aviation. The aircraft sets new standards in terms of speed, range and comfort, meeting the needs of the discerning traveller. It remains to be seen how the Global 8000 will fare in the market and what impact it will have on the competition.
