The Wizz Air Group organizes another 500 million euros with the help of a capital market bond. It is currently expected that the closing will take place on January 19, 2022.
An interest rate of just one percent is offered, which is to be paid out on the due date in 2026. Among other things, the carrier stated that the funds will be used to repay the loan granted by the British government in April 2020. At the time, UK loaned the group around £300m.
This is not the first bond that Wizz Air has issued due to the corona pandemic. In the previous year, 500 million euros were raised with a term until 2024. At that time, an interest rate of 1,35 percent was offered. The business figures for the third quarter of 2021 are to be presented on January 26, 2022.
