Conflict over pensions intensifies: Eurowings membership vote initiated

The wage dispute between the pilots' union Vereinigung Cockpit and the airline Eurowings has reached a new level of escalation. On March 6, 2026, the union's executive board decided to initiate a membership vote on possible industrial action. The reason for this drastic step is the failure of negotiations on a new collective agreement for company pensions.

Cologne/Bonn Airport presents expanded summer flight schedule 2026

With the implementation of the new summer flight schedule on March 29, 2026, Cologne/Bonn Airport will see a significant expansion of its route network. A total of 26 airlines will serve 115 destinations in 38 countries in the coming season. A key focus of the capacity expansion is on Eastern Europe and the Balkans, as well as improved connections to major European cities.

Eurowings is introducing transaction fees for certain credit cards

Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings has adjusted its payment terms and will now charge fees for transactions made with certain types of credit cards. This new policy primarily affects corporate credit cards and cards issued by institutions outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Personal credit cards issued within the EEA are not affected by this policy.
