Expansion of flight offerings at Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport

Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport (FKB) will present a significant expansion of its route network at the start of the summer flight schedule on March 29, 2026. The focus will be particularly on major cities in Eastern Europe and North Africa. Ryanair will integrate four new capital cities – Tirana, Bucharest, Amman, and Rabat – into its program from Rheinmünster. At the same time, Wizz Air will also be expanding its network.

Wizz Air is expanding at FKB

Hungarian airline Wizz Air will strengthen its presence at Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport (FKB) in spring 2026 by launching two routes to Romania. Starting April 15, 2026, the airline will resume service to Bucharest. The flights will operate daily and land at Bucharest-Băneasa Airport, conveniently located near the city center.

Ryanair adjusts summer flight schedule 2026 in the DACH region

Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair has announced extensive changes to its route network for the 2026 summer season. The restructuring focuses on adjustments at its hubs in Vienna, Memmingen, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, as well as at the airports in Hahn, Weeze, and Cologne/Bonn. While the low-cost carrier is increasing its commitment to profitable tourist routes to Croatia, unprofitable routes will be discontinued.

Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport digitizes personnel planning

Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport (FKB) is introducing a new, digital software solution for workforce scheduling. The system, provided by Inform, will replace the existing Excel-based scheduling system and significantly improve the efficiency of shift planning for the approximately 280 operational staff. The phased transition to the new solution will begin in January 2026.

Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport gets a new managing director

The supervisory board of Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport (FKB) has appointed Claus Grunow as the new managing director of Baden-Airpark GmbH. Grunow, who will take up his position no later than May 1, 2026, succeeds Uwe Kotzan, whose contract expires at the end of the year. With this new appointment, the airport, which is expected to see more passengers this year, is further strengthening its position.
