Lufthansa actually wanted to reactivate the Innsbruck-Frankfurt route on November 2, 2020. But that will not happen – at least for the time being. The resumption has been postponed until December 1, 2020, the airline confirmed. No specific reason was given, but the impending mandatory quarantine in Germany and the planned lockdown are likely to delay the

Weak demand: Austrian Airlines cancels more routes

Due to the weak booking situation, Austrian Airlines will be discontinuing connections to Nuremberg and Leipzig, among others, from November 2020. The parent company Lufthansa announced a few days ago that group-wide capacity will be significantly reduced again. This also has consequences for the fleet: the backbone of short- and medium-haul routes will be

Switzerland is removing the federal states of Vienna, Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Burgenland and Salzburg, which have been classified as risk areas since September, from its red list. Despite low demand: AUA wants to flee Dash 8

Despite the fact that the DHC Dash 8-400 aircraft is currently proving to be the ideal workhorse for the extremely limited demand on Austrian Airlines’ short-haul routes, the company is sticking to its retirement schedule. The turboprop aircraft are to be “retired” by the end of the first quarter of 2021. In the current 2020/21 winter flight plan period,
