Spielwarenmesse led to increased demand at Nuremberg Airport
Last week, the traditional toy fair took place in Nuremberg. The increased demand led to some carriers using larger aircraft than usual. Turkish Airlines is using the Airbus A330 with 289 seats instead of the usual A321 with 190 or the Boeing 737-800 with 165 seats. British Airways is increasing its flights to London Heathrow from four weekly to up to three daily connections during the fair. Air France is increasing the frequency during the fair week by more than 20 percent to three to five daily connections to Paris Charles de Gaulle. Lufthansa is offering four daily flights to the Frankfurt hub for transfer passengers, using Airbus A319 and Bombardier CRJ 900, among others. The slideshow below shows some of the visitors in Nuremberg.
