The airline Easyjet has presented its winter flight schedule for 2025/2026, significantly expanding its offering for travelers from Austria. New flights include flights between Milan-Linate and Vienna as well as Salzburg and Southend.

With over 1.000 non-stop flights to 12 destinations in Europe, passengers from Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna will benefit from an even more extensive route network. The new connection between Salzburg and London Southend and the first winter connection from Vienna to Milan Linate are particularly notable. The flights can be booked from February 25, 2025, and the travel period extends from December 15, 2025 to March 22, 2026.

Expansion of flight offerings from Austria

With the launch of the winter flight schedule, Easyjet is continuing its expansion strategy in Austria. The company is offering new and expanded connections, especially for travelers who are planning city breaks or traveling for business during the cold season.

Easyjet will launch a new direct connection from Salzburg to London Southend. Southend Airport offers an interesting alternative to major hubs such as Heathrow or Gatwick, especially for travelers heading to East London. This route will be operated every Saturday from December 6, 2025.

In addition, the connection between Vienna and Milan Linate will be extended to the winter months. This route, which will start for the first time on March 30, 2025, will thus be served all year round. Milan Linate is particularly attractive for travelers because the airport is close to the city center and offers convenient connections to the economic metropolis of northern Italy.

Thomas Haagensen, Managing Director of Easyjet Europe, explained in a statement that customers can secure the best fares for their winter holidays with the early booking option. "We are delighted to be able to further contribute to Austria's connectivity with the new direct connection between Salzburg and London Southend and to be able to offer passengers from Vienna even more choice next winter for the first time with our new direct connection to Milan Linate."

The expansion of the flight offer could be of particular interest to business travellers and tourists who want to explore European cities in the winter. London Southend Airport is an attractive alternative to the large and often busy London airports, while Milan Linate is popular for short journeys to the city centre.

Continuous growth in Austria

Easyjet is continuously expanding its market presence in Austria. The low-cost carrier has increasingly established itself as a major player in European air traffic in recent years and competes with established network providers. In addition to the new connections, Easyjet will continue to offer flights from Austria to popular destinations such as Berlin, Amsterdam, Bristol and Geneva. Demand for the new routes could be particularly high in the winter season, when many travelers want to visit ski resorts or cities.

Vienna is once again playing a key role in the airline's expansion strategy. As a hub for Eastern Europe, the federal capital is an important destination in Easyjet's route network. With the expansion of the connection to Milan Linate, business travelers in particular are offered a time-saving alternative to other Milan airports. Before the Corona pandemic, Easyjet had a much stronger presence in the federal capital. It operated routes to Basel, Geneva, Berlin and Amsterdam, among others.

Innsbruck, as an important location for winter tourism, also remains an integral part of the Easyjet network. In the past, the British airline has focused heavily on winter tourism in the Alps and offers flights from Innsbruck to several European cities.
