The German holiday airline Condor also intends to offer flights from Austria in the summer of 2023. In the season that is now coming to an end, the utilization of the connections served from Vienna was around 90 percent in some cases.

After a few years of absence, Condor has returned to Austria's largest airport in the 2022 summer flight schedule. In contrast to the past, in which long-haul routes were operated from Vienna, this year seasonal holiday destinations in Greece and Spain are served. This is exactly what they want to do again in the summer of 2023, a spokeswoman confirmed to Aviation.Direct.

When asked about how business is going in Vienna-Schwechat, the media officer explained: “The Condor flights to and from Vienna were well received and we are satisfied with the development. Especially in the traditionally more frequented summer holiday season, the occupancy rate on Condor flights was sometimes more than 90 percent above expectations".

There are currently no short-term plans to go back to long-haul routes from Vienna or to be present during the cold season. "For the time being, Condor is concentrating on the seasonal offer from Vienna as the departure airport, and will therefore take off from Austria again in summer 2023. For the coming summer season, Condor will again be offering its guests flights to the most popular holiday destinations such as the Balearic Islands or Greece," said the Condor spokeswoman.
