In the 2023/24 summer timetable, Corendon Dutch Airlines will station four aircraft at Brussels Airport. The offer is being expanded from around 150.000 to 260.000 seats. The chaos that reigns in Amsterdam played a crucial role in the decision, the company told De Telegraaf.

The Dutch division of Corendon, which is headed by Atilay Uslu, is affected. The manager explained to the daily newspaper that the chaotic conditions at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol have led to a loss of around ten million euros. In order to prevent a similar scenario, capacity will be transferred to Brussels. In the 2023 summer flight schedule, four aircraft will be stationed at the Belgian airport.

Another factor that influenced the cost: the total cost is lower than from Amsterdam. For example, the state ticket tax from the Netherlands is 26 euros. Depending on the flight route, between two and ten euros are charged in Belgium. The bottom line is that you can offer more competitive prices.
