The Maltese airline Corendon Europe will give up its base at Basel-Mulhouse Airport. The carrier confirmed that the locally based Boeing 737-800 will be withdrawn.

The step comes as no surprise, as it was announced a few days ago that the Corendon Group's offer from Basel iin the 2023 summer flight schedule will be greatly reduced. In fact, only flights to Turkey are still offered, which are operated by the sister company Corendon Airlines. The base in Basel was opened just under a year ago and was the first and so far the only one, which focuses on the Swiss market.

EuroAirport also confirmed to the daily newspaper “BZ Basel” that Corendon Europe had informed them that the local base would be closed. Basel Airport also stated that the carrier had been informed that the fleet was to be reduced for the 2023 summer timetable.
