Croatia Airlines: State helps out

Advertising

Croatia Airlines can look forward to a financial injection: The Croatian government is shouldering the crisis in the form of a capital increase of 46 million euros. To this end, the state carrier will issue new shares, all of which will be bought by the state, which already has a 99 percent stake in the airline. In addition, a further 11,7 million euros should flow as direct aid.

This is intended to cover losses incurred, as reported by exyuaviation.com . The measures taken also comply with antitrust regulations. The funds are expected to reach Croatia Airlines before the end of this year. The airline recorded a net loss of €32,1 million in the first nine months of the year, compared to a loss of €6,5 million in the same period last year. Revenue fell by 59 percent to €71,7 million in the first three quarters.
