The Vienna Gastronomy Club (GWC) started the year 2025 with its traditional curling competition in the Feuerdorf on the Danube Canal. Numerous prominent guests from the gastronomy, business and entertainment sectors took part in the event. In addition to the sporting competition, the evening offered a varied program with a Gösser beer tapping, a Schlumberger sabre competition, a mini tombola and table magic.

GWC chairman Thomas Peschta emphasized the importance of curling as an opportunity for restaurateurs to network and exchange ideas. The fire village on the Danube Canal will be open all year round in the future. Managing directors Patrick Nebois and Hannes Strobl announced that the fire village will be a popular meeting place not only in winter but also in summer. A guest garden with a holiday feeling right on the water is being planned.

The Fire Village in the Prater will also remain open all year round, but will focus more on private parties and corporate events in the future. Both locations offer barbecue huts for events of all sizes. Bookings can be made on the Fire Village website.
