Danzig: truck crashes under Wizz-Air-A320neo

The HA-LJB, an Airbus A320neo operated by the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air, is not even half a year old, but it is already in need of repair. A Mercedes truck crashed under the medium-haul jet at the Polish airport in Gdansk on January 7, 2021. There was mere but expensive property damage.

A spokeswoman for the airport confirmed that no one was injured. The truck driver was also able to get out unharmed. The HA-LJB was prepared for a flight to Stockholm. For an as yet unexplained cause, the ground service vehicle crashed under the Airbus A320neo of the low-cost airline Wizz Air. It was a truck that was supposed to supply the aircraft with fresh water.

It is currently believed that the truck got stuck while reversing and caught on the aircraft's landing gear, local media write. Neither Wizz Air nor Gdansk Airport were able to estimate the extent of the property damage. This still has to be determined in the course of an assessment.
