Shortly before Christmas, the demolition of an 80-year-old hangar began in Klagenfurt. This has an impact on the police helicopters, because they have to be housed in a makeshift facility. The rooms for the crews are provisionally provided in the form of containers.

The operating company justified the step by stating that there was imminent danger. It was also pointed out that it had rained heavily recently. The office building connected to the hangar will also be demolished. The flight police therefore had to move to a temporary facility. Their aircraft is temporarily parked in the armed forces hall.

It is currently completely unclear how long the provisional will last. Although there is talk of a new building near the ÖAMTC base that is located outside the area, nothing is yet to be said. The situation is much more complicated for clubs and private pilots, because they too had to look for a new solution.
