It no longer seems to harmonize properly between the German Football Association and Lufthansa, because the crane refused - also with reference to the financial consequences of the corona pandemic - to fly the kickers through Europe free of charge for the European championship.

For the national team, flights in economy class are an obvious no-go, because it has to be at least business class, but better first class. In Lithuania, for example, a charter plane was organized that meets the high demands of the soccer players, who are spoiled by millions. According to a report in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Lufthansa has no interest in continuing the sponsorship with the DFB.

Now the DFB has its eye on Qatar Airways and is said to be in intensive negotiations with this airline. The soccer club FC Bayern Munich has been cooperating with the airline based in Doha for some time. The DFB apparently hopes that you can fly around the world with Qatar Airways for free and, in particular, travel to the World Cup in Doha.

Neither the airline nor the German Football Association want to officially confirm the talks, but it seems that these are already well advanced. In Germany there is at least a low level of criticism because the DFB is committed to human rights, and in Qatar it is said that the construction of the football stadiums around them is not going to be the best.
