Free rapid antigen tests have been offered at Dortmund Airport in Germany since Sunday. These are carried out by the operator of the test station, Medicare, and are open to residents of North Rhine-Westphalia.

In the latest test ordinance, the aforementioned German federal state stipulated that every citizen must have the opportunity to do a free antigen test at least once a week. PCR will continue to be offered at Dortmund Airport, but for the time being there will be a charge for this.

“We are very pleased that we can now offer all citizens free rapid tests at the airport in order to detect infections and avoid chains of infection. The infrastructure for this is available and tested. A total of around 1 tests have already been carried out at the airport since January 20.000, ”says Sven Stute, organization manager of the test center at the airport.

The test center is not only open to passengers, but to all citizens willing to test. Sven Stute strongly recommends that everyone make an online appointment reservation in advance: “When making a reservation, those willing to test can use our Fast Lane and thus avoid waiting times. Anyone who also makes sure to arrive at a time when no aircraft is taking off or landing can reduce the waiting time to a minimum. ”Appointments can be reserved online at www.covid-testzentrum.de.
