Dresden Airport is modernizing its passenger and baggage handling. The Federal Police should also get a new guard post. This work will be completed by early 2023, while the construction work on the passenger and hand luggage checkpoints will continue until March 2024.

The construction of the new station for the federal police is expected to be completed in spring 2023. At the same time, the central passenger and hand luggage check will be redesigned by September 2023. The work includes the dismantling of the old guard, the installation of new inspection devices for hand luggage and body scanners (inspection lanes 1 and 2) and an adjustment of the rental space in the aviation security area.

In a further construction phase, which is to be completed in 2024, new control devices for hand luggage and full-body scanners for control lanes 3 and 4 will be installed. The installation of new luggage inspection devices by July 2023 will necessitate static conversion measures, as the new devices are significantly heavier.
