Bhutan's state-owned airline Drukair will operate two weekly flights between Paro and Dubai from October 28, 2024. These new services are intended to facilitate access to the Himalayan state and promote tourism in Bhutan by making the country more attractive to travelers from the United Arab Emirates and expats.

The flights will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, departing Dubai at 04:00 a.m. and arriving in Paro at 10:30 a.m. Return flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays at 08:45 a.m., meaning passengers will land back in Dubai at 13:40 p.m. The new flight times will also allow for connecting flights via Drukair's codeshare partner Turkish Airlines.

In addition, Drukair is planning a fleet renewal and has recently signed a letter of intent to purchase three Airbus A320neo and two Airbus A321XLR. These new aircraft will expand the international route network and are expected to be delivered from 2030.
