Drukair – Royal Bhutan Airlines has signed a letter of intent to purchase three A320neo and two A321XLR from Airbus. This order is intended to expand the fleet and expand the international route network. Delivery of the aircraft is planned from 2030.

Drukair, a subsidiary of state-owned Druk Holding and Investments Limited (DHI), will operate the new aircraft from Paro International Airport and the planned airport in Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC).

The airline already operates four Airbus A320 family aircraft. The new models will enable connections to Europe, Southeast Asia and Australia. Drukair CEO Tandi Wangchuk stressed the importance of this investment for the vision of holistic development of Bhutan. Benoît de Saint-Exupéry of Airbus praised Drukair's trust and the long-term partnership between Airbus and Bhutan.
